Full Circle 2015 Showcases Many "Perspectives"
In this very special video feature, Jesse and Dave take us behind the scenes at Matheny Medical and Educational Center's Arts Access program and give us a sneak peak of its annual celebration, Full Circle – a multi-media, fine arts showcase featuring unique creations from Arts Access artists in painting, dance and written work.
A unique program that enables individuals with disabilities to fully express themselves through the arts, Arts Access provides the tools and materials needed for individuals, regardless of their disabilities, to produce complete pieces of work in the visual, performing and literary arts. Participants work with professional artist facilitators who are trained to be the arms and legs of the disabled clients. Clients choose everything from the paint color and brush stroke to a dance or theatrical movement and more, while the facilitator consciously maintains a sense of neutrality throughout the creative process and provide a process for the client artists to create works that are purely their own. Clients receive a nurturing environment for expression, a chance to interact with other artists and an opportunity for performance and exhibition.
Full Circle 2015 "Perspectives" will take place Saturday, November 7 in the Robert Schonhorn Arts Center on the Matheny campus in Peapack, NJ. A visual arts exhibit will be on display in the gallery beginning at 3 p.m. and will include more than 50 pieces from nearly 40 artists. Then, a stage presentation will take place a 4 p.m. with 12 segments encompassing creative writing, dance and drama created by Arts Access artists. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased here.
