Bravely Broaching Machismo and Bravado, "The Hombres" Makes its World Premiere at Two River Theater

Bravely Broaching Machismo and Bravado, "The Hombres" Makes its World Premiere at Two River Theater

"The Hombres" is a brand new play by Tony Meneses. Originally set to have its world premiere in March of 2020, the play was postponed and, in that time, given new life. Join Gina Marie as she chats with director Annie Tippe and playwright Tony Meneses about the journey to their world premiere at Two River Theater.

"The Hombres" bravely broaches the topics of machismo, bravado, and toxic masculinity. Set in New Jersey, ("somewhere off the NJ transit line), the play follows Julián, a gay, Latino yoga teacher, as he clashes with the straight and macho Latino construction workers outside his studio — particularly the older head of the crew, Héctor, who seeks from Julián something he never expected.

"The Hombres" runs through April 10, 2022. For tickets and more information, visit www.tworivertheater.org.
